About me

My life between Denmark and southern Spain

My name is Frank Pedersen, and a few years ago I made a decision that changed my life: I started spending part of my life in Málaga, southern Spain — and over the years, this sunny corner of paradise has become one of the places where I feel most at home.

I still have strong connections to Denmark, but Málaga and the Costa del Sol have become a very important part of my everyday life, my family life, and my way of seeing the world. What started as a love for the sun, the sea, and the warm climate slowly became something much deeper.

For me, life in Spain is not only about beautiful weather. It is about atmosphere, food, nature, family, culture, and the feeling that everyday life can be lived with more presence and joy.

Southern Spain gave me a different rhythm. A warmer rhythm. A slower rhythm. A way of living where good food, beautiful surroundings, time with family, and small everyday moments matter.

Why I fell in love with life in Spain

The Spanish way of living

The first thing many people notice about Málaga is the weather. The sunshine, the blue sky, the long evenings, and the feeling of being close to the Mediterranean are easy to fall in love with.

But for me, the real magic is the Spanish way of living.

Life in Spain feels more relaxed, more social, and more connected to the present moment. People take time for coffee, lunch, conversation, evening walks, and simple pleasures. There is a warmth in the culture that makes everyday life feel richer.

It is not about rushing from one thing to the next. It is about enjoying where you are.

The food, the atmosphere and the people

One of the things I love most about life in Spain is the food culture. From small tapas bars in Málaga to beach restaurants along the coast, local markets, seafood, grilled sardines, Spanish wine, and long lunches in the sun — food here is not just something you eat. It is part of the lifestyle.

The atmosphere is just as important. Málaga has a special energy. It feels modern and traditional at the same time. You can walk through historic streets in the morning, have lunch by the sea, visit a white village in the afternoon, and enjoy dinner in a lively square in the evening.

That mix is one of the reasons I keep falling more in love with this place.

The nature of the Costa del Sol

The Costa del Sol is famous for beaches, but the nature here is much more than coastline.

There are mountains, white villages, olive groves, hiking routes, natural parks, dramatic viewpoints, and peaceful inland areas only a short drive from Málaga. One day you can swim in the Mediterranean, and the next day you can explore a mountain village or walk through beautiful Andalusian landscapes.

For me, this variety is one of the biggest gifts of life in Spain.

A family connection to Spain

My wife and our life between two countries

Even though my life is partly divided between Denmark and Spain, Málaga has become a very important part of our family life.

My wife joins me here around two weeks every month, depending on her work in Denmark. During the summer holidays, we usually spend five to six wonderful weeks together on the Costa del Sol.

Those weeks are some of the best times of the year. We slow down, enjoy the weather, eat well, explore new places, and spend time together in a way that feels different from everyday life in Denmark.

Life in Spain gives us time to reconnect, enjoy the small things, and share experiences that become lasting memories.

Our grown-up boys also love the Costa del Sol

Our grown-up boys visit as often as they can, and every time they come, it reminds me why this part of Spain has become so special to all of us.

They love the same things we do: the sunshine, the sea, the food, the relaxed atmosphere, the nature, and the feeling that life here is a little lighter.

For our family, the Costa del Sol is not just a holiday destination. It has become a place where we reconnect, relax, explore, and enjoy life together.

Why I created LifeCosmo

A personal guide to Málaga, the Costa del Sol and life in Spain

LifeCosmo was created from my own love for Málaga, the Costa del Sol, and life in Spain.

I wanted to build a place where I could share honest, useful, and inspiring guides about southern Spain. Not just from the perspective of a tourist, but from someone who actually spends a lot of time here, explores the area, eats in the restaurants, walks the streets, visits the villages, and enjoys the everyday lifestyle.

LifeCosmo is about the places I discover, the experiences I enjoy, and the practical things that make Spain such an attractive place to visit, live, and dream about.

More than a travel website

LifeCosmo is not meant to be just another travel website with the same standard recommendations.

My goal is to create content that feels personal, helpful, and real. I want to share the kind of information I would have liked to find myself — honest guides, local inspiration, beautiful places, restaurant tips, lifestyle ideas, and useful advice for people who are curious about Spain.

Whether you are planning a holiday, thinking about moving to Spain, looking for great places to eat, or simply dreaming about a sunnier and more relaxed way of living, I hope LifeCosmo gives you inspiration.

What LifeCosmo is about

Destinations and places to explore

On LifeCosmo, I write about beautiful places in Málaga, the Costa del Sol, Andalusia, and Spain. This includes well-known destinations, coastal towns, white villages, city guides, viewpoints, hidden gems, and day trip ideas.

Spain is full of places that deserve more than a quick visit, and I want to help readers discover them in a more personal and inspiring way.

Food, restaurants and local experiences

Food is a big part of life in Spain, and it is also a big part of LifeCosmo.

I love discovering restaurants, tapas bars, beach clubs, local markets, cafés, and special places to eat. Some places are famous, others are hidden in small streets or local neighbourhoods.

For me, food is one of the best ways to understand a place.

Living between Denmark and Spain

LifeCosmo is also about what it feels like to live part of your life in Spain while still having strong connections to another country.

That includes the lifestyle, the practical side of living between two countries, the atmosphere, the culture, the challenges, and the many small things that make everyday life here special.

Spain is not perfect, but it has a way of giving you something that is difficult to describe until you have spent real time here.

My hope for LifeCosmo
